How we work
FirstScroll explains Indian markets, business and money in plain English. This page sets out how a story gets from a headline to your inbox, and what we promise about it.
Nothing on FirstScroll is investment, tax or legal advice. We do not tell readers to buy, sell or hold anything, and we do not recommend products. When a decision depends on your circumstances, we say so and point you to a SEBI-registered adviser or a chartered accountant.
Every number, date, quote and regulatory action in a story links to its source, in this order of preference:
Every story should carry at least one primary source, not only reports about it. We don't cite brokers' or competitors' explainers of the same story as evidence.
Some stories are first drafted with AI. The draft is written only from source documents we fetch and supply, and it is not allowed to add facts that aren't in them. Before anything is published, software checks every figure in the draft against those sources. Unsupported numbers are corrected or the draft is sent back to our editors instead of being published.
Drafts that pass are held for at least three hours before they go live. In that window our editors get the full draft, with every flagged figure listed, and can edit it or stop it. Cover images made with AI are illustrations, not photographs of real events.
If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the story's "Updated" date. Material errors (a wrong number, a misattributed quote, a misread rule) get a correction note at the end of the article saying what changed. Tell us about an error at [email protected] or through our contact page.
FirstScroll is free to read and is funded by advertising and sponsorships. Sponsored content is always labelled as sponsored, and sponsors never see, shape or approve our editorial stories.
Every story is published under the FirstScroll name and the editorial team is accountable for it. Read more about FirstScroll.
